Quilt Along

I keep seeing pictures and blog posts of people participating in the Quilt Along hosted by Dana at Old Red Barn Co. and finally decided to participate. I have been wanting to make a purple quilt for myself for quite a while, so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to get it completed.

Since it is almost Week 3 of the Quilt Along and I will need to catch up, I wanted to use fabrics from my stash instead of ordering them online and having to wait to receive them all. The requirements are 1/2 yard of 12 fabrics. Since I only had 11, I did have to order one fabric. Hopefully it will arrive quickly. Now on to the cutting...

Coin Quilt

Here is the coin quilt I made for my baby nephew Sebastian. The finished size is 79" x 89". This picture shows it on a queen size bed. This is the biggest quilt I have ever made! I started it on April 20th and finished the free-motion quilting on May 16th. I still have to hand sew the binding down.

Close up of the free motion quilting:

I quilted his name into the border.

The back. I love this Alexander Henry frog fabric!
